A Ukraine Friday 5

25th February 2022

Each week I look at what is happening in the studio, at home, in the world and I make a call what to put out on my social media platforms. It just feels awkward sharing a new collection and I'm uncomfortable documenting life when, well you know, the news footage; it's terrifying, harrowing and distressing. As the week progressed I found lots of helpful posts how I can support the Ukraine. As such, this week's Friday 5 is devoted to exactly that. Helping the people of Ukraine. I've picked 5 things you can do this week, if these aren't your thing just google "How can I help the people of Ukraine" and you'll find other resources.

  1. How to help Etsy sellers in Ukraine:
Go to Etsy.com and search "digital file". Choose button "all filters". Scroll down and find "Shop location" category. Choose custom and type "Ukraine". The results will show you all the digital products of Ukrainian sellers. All of these products are automatically delivered to your e-mail, the seller doesn't have to post anything to you and received your money.
  2. Donate to the Red Cross:
"We are gravely concerned about the intensification of fighting in Ukraine over the past few days. People are losing their homes and lives; families are being separated. Essential services, like water and healthcare, are under threat."
Click here for the link to donate.
  3. Support the LGBTQ+ Community in Ukraine:
"In times like these, LGBTQ+ members are often even more marginalised and exposed to vulnerability than usual. OutRight Action International is stepping up to make sure that they are not left behind and that they are protected in this time of crisis."
  4. Stand with Ukraine:
"People United with never be defeated".
Here is the link to Peace protests around the world.
  5. UNICEF:
Half a million children are already effected. You can read more and donate via UNICEF.
Here is the link to the UNICEF page.

I hope by the time I sit down to write the next Friday 5 things are different and we are in a place of peace. Look after yourselves and see you soon. xx
